Sight Restored to Iskandar Obeid
Iskandar Obeid · Baabdat, Lebanon
Iskandar Obeid, a blacksmith from Baabdat, lost the sight of one eye after it was struck in 1937. His doctors found no improvement and advised removing the damaged eye so that harm would not spread to the healthy one.
In 1950, as news of healings at Annaya spread, a monk appeared to him in a dream and urged him to go to the monastery. He spent the day in prayer and slept near Saint Charbel's tomb, then returned home in growing pain.
In another dream, a monk put a powder on his eye and said, "You will suffer greatly, but you will be healed." When he awoke and covered his healthy eye, he could clearly see. His cure was one of the miracles accepted for Charbel's beatification in 1965.
