Arriving at the monastery
The Monastery of Saint Maron sits 1,200 metres up in the hills of Jbeil. Its first wing was finished in 1828 — the year Charbel was born. Here he lived as a monk for 16 years before going up to the hermitage.

The monastery posts its Mass and prayer times and broadcasts special celebrations, such as the Mass on the 22nd of each month and his feast in July. Times are in Lebanon's local time.
